Smart Typer App Reviews

Works intermittently on Yosemite on a MacBook Air, if not elsewhere. Sometimes restarting the laptop (like a Windows OS - yuck) gets it going again. Sometimes not. Sometimes quitting and restarting ST helps, but not usually.

OSX Yosemite | I’ve restarted my computer, uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app, checked relevant system prefs. Nothing works. It hasn’t worked one single time.

Well. I came to Mac from an HP, where I used Phrase Express CONSTANTLY. I hated that it wasn’t available for my Mac, so I went in search of something comparable. I wasn’t thrilled that it was a paid app, when Phrase Express worked brilliantly and was free, but I was willing to pay to have back the convenience I was accustomed to. I paid for it, installed it, gave it permissions, set it up, submitted my phrase and my chosen shortcut, and saved them... When I try to actually use it, I enter the shortcut, and either nothing happens, or after a couple of seconds, it disappears. And thats it. Nothing appears in its place. I emailed Smart Typer and explained what was happening. NO RESPONSE, none! I have given them 4 weeks to get back to me, but they just ignored me instead. Save your money. This company will just steal it. Shame on them.

On June 12, 2014, I submitted a ticket to them that "Smart Typer doesnt show user dialog box on Mavericks OS.” Even after more than a year later, they NEVER responded other than with an initial automated email message stating, "You have submitted a new ticket. Our staff will review the ticket shortly and reply accordingly...” Yeah, right! I see I am not the only person with lack-of-support complaints and I have never been able to get Smart Typer to work on my Mac — what a waste of money and effort.

I can not even get the app to start in Yosemite, even after giving it accessibility via the preferences.. would b great to have an app that did this, but i guess one doen’t exist. :-((
